MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 23, 2005 <br />Allan again stated that she did not like the auto pacts store and felt Yhere <br />was a better use for that site. <br />Blesener noted that whatever goes in will have to survive. Blesener felt <br />that compliance with the architectural guidelines will help meet some of <br />the City's goals for the area. <br />The City Planner noted that the redevelopment plan and architectural <br />guidelines propose a scale of building that provides for a more urban <br />environment. <br />Blesener suggested that dividing these hvo lots into three parcels might <br />help attain that goal. <br />Sherman noted that difi'iculties of leasing oi~rt the retail space at The Lodge <br />over the past 24 months. tie noted that the interest in the area is from <br />coffee shops and auto service. Sherman again noted that he will comply <br />with the architectural guidelines and construct a quality project. <br />Rheaume asked if the apartment complexes across the street have a <br />negative impact on the redevelopment project. Sherman did not feel they <br />did. F-1e indicated that the problem appears to be concern for the <br />appearance of the adjacent properties along Rice Street. <br />Condon suggested the possibility of constructing a larger building a <br />portion of which would be occupied by the auto parts store and the other <br />hall' leased. <br />Sherman again indicated that they are looking for viable tenants for the <br />area and confirmed his intention to comply with all agreements, TIF <br />guarantees, and meet the architectural guidelines. <br />Blesener thanked those present for their participation- <br />There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:26 p. m. <br />itlill teoe---- <br />Attest - ~~ <br />Joe L.
