Keis felt there are major changes coming in the charitable gambling industry. 131esener agreed. Blesener noted the two issues that proposed legislation would address, one being the rent issue and the other expense compliance. The Administrator reported that additional rent controls would help the compliance issue, but noted that the current legislative proposal may be so restrictive that it would not be Feasible to rent to a bingo hall operation. The Administrator suggested that he also contact the League of Minnesota Cities for their assistance at the Legislature. F3lesener again stated that the next step would be to determine if there are Little Canada organizations interested in operating at the bingo hall, or if the City Council is willing to open the bingo hall up to outside organizations. Ile further pointed out that the City does not yet Know when Millennium will ease their operation. Montour indicated his suppoirt for City staff to take an active role in the pending, legislation relative to charitable gambling. }3lesener agreed.
