MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 13, 2005 <br />The Council reviewed the action plan relating to "Review Possible <br />Redevelopment Initiatives". Blesener suggested that Che Carget dates may <br />be too aggressive. The City Administrator felt they were attainable. <br />The City Administrator then reviewed his memo dated March 31, 2005 <br />which provided a brief background and commentary on the other goals <br />that were identified at the Goal Setting Session. Allan asked about the use <br />of the "Revitalization of the Business Revolving Loan Fund". The <br />Administrator noted that cities that have such a fund have indicated that it <br />has noC been strongly used. The Administrator indicated that he needs to <br />make some final revisions to fund documents to meet US Bank's <br />requirements and then finalize and distribute promotional materials. The <br />Administrator anticipated that Chis work will be done by mid-May. <br />The Council discussed the need for increased traffic policing as part of the <br />"Unweave the Weave -Manage Impact to Little Canada" goal. The <br />Administrator noted that an additional traffic car is anticipated Co be parC <br />of the 2006 Sheriff's Department Budget. <br />With regard to "Investigate Development of Skateboard Park", Allan <br />expressed concern for the potential for injury and resulting liability with <br />such a park. The Parks & Recreation Director indicated that there are <br />some low level structures available which minimize these risks. The Parks <br />& Recreation Commission is continuing its review of this potential park <br />addition. <br />In reviewing "Proactively Work to Attract New Business", it was noted <br />Chat the retail portion of the Sherman project in Falcon HeighCS is fully <br />leased. The Administrator felt that was an issue of rent levels. LaValle <br />noted Chat the Falcon Heights project is leased to businesses that were <br />displaced as a result of the redevelopment project.
