MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 13, 2005 <br />The Administrator indicated that the manhole covers would be replaced <br />this fall by the Institution/Community Work Crew. He also indicated that <br />the impact that these covers will have on inflow rates will be measured, <br />and he anticipated it would take aC least two years to determine based on <br />Met Sewer's billing practices. <br />PARK The Parks & Recreation Director appeared before the Council and <br />SIGNAGE reviewed his report dated April 8°i recommending the award of the low <br />bid for the Spooner Park entrance sign and the Firefighter Historical Trail <br />sign. The Director reviewed the bid tabulations with the Council. He also <br />noted that the Park Commission also supports the award of the low bid for <br />this signage. <br />Blesener asked about the funding of these costs. The Director indicated <br />that there is $5,000 from a past donation that can be used for this signage. <br />Also, both Canadian Days and the Little Canada Fire Department have <br />indicated an interest in donating funds toward the signage. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-4-87 -AWARDING THE LOW BIDS FOR <br />SPOONER PARK ENTRANCE SIGN AND FIREFIGHTERS <br />MEMORIAL TRAIL SIGNAGE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION AND THE PARKS & <br />RECREATION DIRECTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Allan, LaValle, Blesener, Keis. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CONTINUED At this point in the meeting, Council continued its review of the City <br />REVIEW OF Administrator's commentary on goals, beyond the top seven goals, that <br />GOAL ACTION were identified at the 2005 Goal Setting Session. This discussion was <br />PLANS begun at the Council workshop meeting immediately preceding this <br />meeting. <br />Council reviewed "Upgrade Basement at Old Fire Hall and Expand <br />Parking". Allan asked if there have been any additional complaints about <br />the rental activity at the Old Fire Hall. The Administrator replied that he <br />has not heard any, but would research this issue prior to proceeding with <br />any improvements at the hall. It was also noted that rentals have <br />decreased since the ability to rent the hall has been restricted to Little <br />Canada residents. <br />
