Allan agreed. Allan pointed out the importance of <br />properly screening outdoor storage areas. <br />Blesener suggested that the Council accept the additional screening <br />requirements that the Planning Commission has recommended. <br />Allan stated that she would rather see the amount of outdoor storage <br />allowed decreased rather than eliminated entirely. Allan felt that this <br />would make it easier to sell existing properties that already have outdoor <br />storage. Allan fe1C that allowing up to 25% of the building area in outdoor <br />storage was manageable. <br />LaValle pointed out that a lot of businesses need outdoor storage to exist. <br />LaValle felt the issue was more of having outdoor storage that is orderly <br />and controlled. LaValle suggested reducing the amount allowed from <br />75% to 50% with the intent to look at the issue again aC a future date. <br />Allan indicated that she was somewhere between 0% and 35%. <br />Blesener suggested that the Council come to a general consensus on the <br />matter Chis evening, and then invite the owners of I-P properties to a future <br />Council meeting to get their input. <br />The City Administrator indicated that few properties would be impacted <br />by a reduction in the amount of outdoor storage. He noted that <br />Slumberland and D & T Trucking would not be impacted given that their <br />CUP's for outdoor storage were limited Co semi-truck and trailer parking. <br />The Orius CUP was limited to a telecommunications company, and the <br />Administrator noted that Code amendments since that CUP was issued <br />have eliminated outdoor storage from front yards. Precision Tree would <br />be impacted by a change. <br />Montour felt it was Cime to make a decision on the outdoor sCOrage issue in <br />the I-P District. He noted that at a recent Council meeting in discussing <br />the reduction of outdoor storage from 75% Co 50%, a business looking to <br />purchase the Hillcrest Property indicated that this reduction would not <br />work for Chem and the reduction would make Che property difficult to sell. <br />Now at this meeting another business steps forward that may be able to <br />utilize the property with liCtle or no outdoor storage. <br />Keis stated that he wanted the City to have flexibility on whether or not <br />outdoor storage was allowed.
