MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 27, 2005 <br />It was the consensus of the Council to move forward with the water meter <br />replacemenC program as outlined by the Public Works Superintendent. <br />Additional information will be presented to the Council on the issue of a <br />request for quotes or bids for this on-going purchase. <br />PLANNING The City Administrator reported that the City has received two <br />COMMISSION applications for the vacancy on the Planning Commission which <br />APPOINTMENT extends through December 31, 2006. The applicants are Jon Hall and Bob <br />Langer. The Administrator reported that he and the Planning Commission <br />Chair interviewed these individuals. Both are very excellent candidates, <br />but it was felt that given Mr. Hall's background, he would bring a <br />perspective to the Commission that is currently not there. <br />By ballot of the Council, Mr. Hall was appointed to the Planning <br />Commission vacancy through December 31, 2006. <br />CANADIAN The City Administrator reminded the Council that the Canadian Days SK <br />DAYS SK Race will be held on Saturday, August 6°i. Any Council assistance in <br />RACE working at the race would be greatly appreciated. <br />NATIONAL The Administrator reported that National Night Out is Tuesday, August 2. <br />NIGHT At list of National Night Out events will be forwarded to the Council <br />OUT for their information. One location will be the North Star Mobile Home <br />Parks, which is also ce]ebrating the opening of their new storm shelter. <br />EDGERTON The Edgerton Sheet Bridge is now open, and Mayor Blesener <br />BRIDGE represented the City at a formal ribbon cutting ceremony held today. <br />ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-7-d70 -ADJOURNING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
