Staff will draft a resolution for
consideration by the Council.
LAND SALE - The City Administrator reported that in 1995 the City purchased a piece
GILANDERI of property at Che corner of County Road B-2 and Gilanderi Lane to
AREA complete the water main system in the Gilanderi area. The purchase price
of this land was $2,000. He indicated thaC the adjacent property owner is
interested in purchasing this land and combining it with his existing lot.
The City would retain an easement over the property for the water main.
The Administrator noted that the issue is whether or not to sell the land;
and, if the decision is to sell, how would the sale price be determined.
The consensus of the Council was to determine whether or not the addition
of this land to the neighbor's lot would result in a subdividable lot. The
Council felt that this would be an important factor in determining the sale
price for the land.
The City Administrator indicated that he would research this issue and
bring it back to the Council.
INFLOW & The City Administrator reported that the City recently learned that
INFILTRATION some of the apartment buildings along County Road D in Vadnais Heights
are connected to Little Canada's sewer system. Vadnais Heights has been
changing these complexes for sewer, while the Metropolitan Council has
been including these flows in their charges to Little Canada. The City
Administrator indicated that either the City of Vadnais Heights or the
Metropolitan Council may owe Little Canada a reimbursement of funds.
This reimbursement could be quite large given the number of years Chis
situation has existed.
The City Administrator recommended that the City Attorney review the
situation and prepare a recommendation for resolution of this matter. The
Council agreed.
