MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 24, 2005 <br />Liquor License fee of $3,500 is at the low end compared to surrounding <br />cities. <br />Keis stated that he would not be opposed to a tiered liquor license fee, but <br />also questioned what Che lowest tier would be in light of the fact that Little <br />Canada's liquor license fee is already low. <br />Blesener suggested that the issue of a tiered liquor fee would take further <br />study. He noted that the Council has been presented this evening with an <br />application for an On-Sale Liquor License for The Little Venetian. <br />Toe Vitale, The Little Venetian, indicated that in reviewing staff's reporC, it <br />was their feeling that seeking an On-Sale License under the City's current <br />licensing system was their best option. Vitale reported that it is not The <br />Little Venetian's intent to put a full bar into their restaurant. The On-Sale <br />License would be utilized primarily for the catering side of their business. <br />Council. agreed that this was the best option and one that was most <br />equitable to other license holders. <br />The City Clerk pointed out that the On-Sale License for The Little <br />Venetian would be the last license allowed under the City Code. <br />However, the Council has the ability to amend the Code and allow for <br />additional On-Sale Licenses within the City subject to State Statutes <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2005-8-192 -APPROVING ANON-SALE <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE VENETIAN AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF AND APPLYING THF. LICENSE <br />FEES RECENTLY PAID BY THE VENETIAN FOR ON-SALE WINE <br />AND BEER LICENSES AGAINST TH $3,500 LICENSE FEE GIVEN <br />THE ON-SALE LICENSE ENCOMPASSES THESE TWO LICENSES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUBLIC The City Administrator reviewed his report dated August 19, 2005 <br />WORKS relative to future Public Works garage site and the MAC property off <br />GARAGE Woodlyn Avenue. The Administrator suggested the Council determine <br />SITES & whether or not it is interested in the MAC property, and it was his feeling <br />MAC that this site was the best location for a new Public Works garage for the <br />PROPERTIES following reasons: <br />13 <br />
