MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 28, 2005
Gardener indicated that they can look at the alternatives that might be available. Von
Riedel stated that he could not provide an answer on this recommendation this evening
withouC a review of the options ChaC might be available.
7. It appears the elevations of STM CB-18 are inaccurate. The Developer's Engineer
should verify all elevations and submit new corrected plans prior to any construction.
Von Riedel indicated acceptance of this recommendation.
8. The City had requested and the Developer had agreed to treat the storm water from
Preserve Trail in the west storm water pond. This submittal shows the storm water being
directed to the east pond. In working with the Developer on what staff felt was an
acceptable wall height east of Preserve Court the high point of Preserve Trail was moved
from Che intersecCion of Preserve Court farther Co the west. If the City were to require
that Che original agreement to treat the storm water in the west pond be followed, it would
resulC in Che Developer installing longer storm sewer runs at deeper depths to serve
Preserve Court. Given that the treatment and ponding requirements for the storm water
from Preserve Court would be the same whether directed to the east or west pond, we
would recommend that the storm water from Preserve Court be allowed to be directed to
the east pond. A benefit of this to the City is less storm sewer to maintain aC shallower
depths.
The City Administrator noted that this recommendation is a decision for the CiCy Council
and the consensus of the Council was to accept the recommendation of the City Engineer
to redirect storm water h~eatment as proposed by the Developer.
9. The existing sewer and water service to the house being removed off of Viking
Boulevard should be removed and abandoned at the property line.
Von Riedel indicated acceptance of this recommendation.
10. The Developer has indicated that the Williams/Magellan pipeline will be lowered to
allow for construction of Preserve Court. All relocation requirements and plans should
be provided to the City for their review and approval as they may relate to the proposed
and future improvements within the right-of-way.
Von Riedel indicated acceptance of this recommendation.
Storm Water Calculations
1. The drainage area map currently has the existing and proposed areas on the same map.
They should be separated into two exhibits and contours should be included. The
boundaries for the subcatchments appear to be the same for the existing and proposed
conditions. However, the HydroCAD results have different areas listed for the two
conditions. Any discrepancies should be resolved. In addition, the proposed boundary
for Subcatchment Dev-North appears to be inaccurate. The boundary is shown as the
18
