Resolution declared adopted.
2006 The City Administrator reported that the City's Electrical Inspector has
ELECTRICAL requested an increase in electrical permit fees effective January 1, 2006.
I:EES The Administrator noted that the Electrical Inspector provides electrical
inspection services on a conh~act basis with the City. He provides this
same service to the Cities of Arden Hills, North Oaks, North St. Paul,
Roseville, and Shoreview. The Electrical Inspector has proposed this fee
increase to all the cities that he contracts with and anticipates that each
city will approve it.
The Administrator noted Chat electrical permit fees have not been
increased since 1996, and the Inspector anticipates Chat the fees will
remain the same for the next five years.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.2005-11-263 -ADOPTING THE 2006
ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES AS PROPOSED BY THE CITY'S
ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR EFFECTIVE JANUARY I, 2006
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
CITY CENTER The City Administrator reviewed his report dated November 4, 2005
GENERATOR relative to the need for a generator at the City Center, as well as Che Public
Works Superintendent's report dated November 7, 2005. The
Administrator pointed out thaC in addition to the need for a generator at the
City Center in the event the building is needed as an Emergency
Operations Center, the City has additional generator needs. These include
operation of the booster station to keep the water tower full, operation of
sewer lift stations, pond pumps at Sleepy Hollow, etc.
Given these various needs, the Administrator asked the Council to
consider some options. The first would be a permanent generator at the
City Center at an estimated cost of just over $30,000. This includes the
generator and permanent hook up on the south side of the building where
the air conditioning units are. The generator could also be placed on the
east side of the building in a less conspicuous area, however, the cost
would be more.
