MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 11, 2008 <br />HOUSING The City Administrator reported that the City has received a petition <br />IMPROVEMENT signed by approximately 37% of the Canabury Townhouse property <br />AREA owners requesting formation of a Housing Improvement Area so that they <br />can proceed with a driveway improvement on their property. The City <br />Administrator suggested that he and the City Attorney be authorized to <br />meet with the townhouse association to work out the specific details of the <br />Housing Improvement Area. These details would then need to be put in <br />ordinance form, and a public hearing be called for adoption of the <br />ordinance. <br />The Administrator indicated that it is his understanding that the City will <br />be receiving additional petitions from two other homeowners associations <br />relative to improvements needed at their complexes. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that the City Administrator and City <br />Attorney meet with the homeowners association relative to the formation <br />of a housing improvement area for the Canabury Townhouse complex. <br />KEN The City Adminish•ator reported that Ken Waring, Thunder Bay, is <br />WARING seriously ill and in hospice care. The Adminisri•ator extended the City's <br />thoughts and best wishes to Mr. Waring. <br />CLOSED The City Attorney recommended that the Council go into closed session <br />SESSION- to discuss pending litigation, the City of Little Canada versus the City of <br />VADNAIS Vadnais Heights. The Attorney noted that at the last Council meeting, his <br />HEIGHTS office was directed to negotiate a settlement with the City of Vadnais <br />LITIGATION Heights, and that is the topic of discussion for this closed session. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-6-152 - TEMPORARILYADJOURNING <br />THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AND CONVENING INTO <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
