MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 9, 2008 <br />ACCOUNT- SelectAccount due to service issues with the cun•ent administrator. The <br />ADMINISTRATOR Clerk noted that SelectAccount is the City's Health Savings Account <br />CHANGE Administrator, and that adminisri•ation costs will be less than currently <br />being paid. The change would be effective August 1, 2008. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-7-172 -TERMINATING DISCOVERY <br />BENEFITS AS THE CITY'S FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT <br />ADMINISTRATOR EFFECTIVEAUGUST 1, 2008AND <br />APPOINTING SELECTACCOUNT AS THE FSA ADMINISTRATOR <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY CLERK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CHANGE The City Administrator reported that the City of Maplewood has <br />ORDER - suggested that the water main that will serve the northeast quadrant of <br />KOHLMAN the City be extended a few hundred additional feet minimizing disruptions <br />LANE for the homes along Beam Avenue. The Administrator noted that it is <br />WATERMAIN extremely likely that the water main will extend along this same path in <br />EXTENSION the not too distant future, therefore, extending it now will minimize the <br /> disruption to developed properties. The cost of the extension is $10,500. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-7--173 -APPROVING THE CHANGE <br />ORDER FOR THE KOHLMAN LANE WATERMAIN EXTENSION <br />AT ANADDITIONAL COST OF $10,500 AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE CITY ENGINEER AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />GOOSE The City Administrator reported that based on the numbers of geese <br />CONTROL observed in the City, goose control measures were not undertaken this <br />year. Given that the numbers were low and the City's plan has never been <br />for total eradication, the cost effectiveness of a round-up was not there. <br />The Administrator also reported that he is obtaining additional information <br />on an egg addling program that may be feasible to undertake in the future. <br />7 <br />
