MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />January 15, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 15th day of January, 2004 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />Mr. David Gray (arrived 7:35 p.m.) <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec. Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Brote~z recommended that the mi~u~tes of the n:eeti~ag opt December 4, 2003 be approved as <br />submitted <br />Motio~a seconded by Sackett Glaser. <br />Motioa carried 5 - 0. <br />WOOD DUCK The Director stated that one of his staff members has been talking to a Cub Scout group who <br />HOUSES is interested in installing wood duck houses in the parks. The Director will have more to report <br />at next month's meeting. <br />The Parks and Recreation Department talked to the DNR about the possibility of problems <br />resulting from the fact that wood ducks can be very territorial thereby scaring off other wildlife <br />in the area. The DNR felt that our proposed placement of the wood duck houses should not <br />present aproblem. <br />NOEL DRIVE The Director stated that Don Gagne, a member of the Little Canada Historical Society, <br />GAZEBO had approached the Commission last month regarding placement of a gazebo on Noel Drive <br />across from Little Canada City Center. Gagne envisioned something more aesthetically <br />pleasing rather than practical. He was not planning on running electricity to it. The size would <br />be approximately 15 feet across. Gagne was seeking concept approval from the Commission. <br />The Commission tabled this item last month in order to seek input from the missing members. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
