MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 5, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 5`~' day of February, 2004 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary (arrived 7:40 p.m.) <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />ELCOME Sackett Glaser and the other members welcomed Molly Boss as the newest member of the Parks <br />& Recreation Commission. <br />MINUTES Broten stated that the minutes from last month's meeting need to be corrected on page 4, first <br />paragraph where it says that he commented that pedestrian stop signs should be added at LaBore <br />Road for safety reasons. He indicated that the stop signs were already on the plans. What he <br />actually said was that pedestrian stop signs should be added at other street crossings. <br />Gray recommended that the minutes of the meeting on January I5, 2004 be approved as <br />corrected. <br />Motion seconded by Larson. <br />Motiozz carried 6 - 0. <br />WOOD DUCK The Commission reviewed Program Coordinator Derek Anderson's memo regarding the status <br />HOUSES of the wood duck houses. The Cub Scouts will be constructing 15 wood duck houses to be <br />installed this year at various parks throughout Little Canada. The Commission thanked <br />Anderson for organizing this project. The City Administrator commented that a few mallard <br />houses may also be intermixed with the wood duck houses. <br />~POONER The Commission reviewed the Parks & Recreation Director's memo that stated that the <br />GN official name of Spooner Park is actually "Carl Spooner Bicentennial Park." The Commission <br />was of the consensus that the name is too long to be placed on a park sign. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
