Hanson <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Keis & Members of City Council <br />FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent <br />DATE: August 7, 2015 <br />RE: New Public Works Facility Change Orders <br />There are five outstanding change orders that need to be approved by the City Council. <br />They are outlined below. <br />1. A.E. Conrad Company — A.E. Conrad was the drywall subcontractor. They had to <br />add a drywall soffit for the window shade detail. This resulted in a $500 increase <br />in the drywall contract. The total drywall contract ended up at $35,000. The <br />original contract was $34,000 and there were two change orders for $500 each. <br />NAC Mechanical — A plumbing credit in the amount of $3,434 was given by <br />NAC Maechanical after all of the plumbing work was completed. The original <br />contract sum was $349,900. A previous change order increased the contract to <br />$353,415, The deduct results in a final plumbing contract sum of $349,981. <br />3.. Metro Sheet Metal — An HVAC credit of $4000 was given by Metro Sheet Metal <br />following the completion of all HVAC work. The original contract was <br />$246,725. There were no previous change orders so the final contract sum is <br />$242,725. <br />4&5. Axel Ohman & Wasche Commercial Finishes — Axel Ohman was the concrete <br />contractor. They did some work on the office floor that resulted in the painted <br />office walls getting covered in concrete splatter. The painting contractor, Wasche <br />Commercial Finishes, had to come back in and re -paint the walls where the <br />concrete was splattered. This resulted in a deduct from Axel Ohman for $1,748 <br />and an addition to Wasche of$1,748. Axel Ohman's contract sum ends up at <br />$216,077 and Wasche ends up at $30,768. The result is a net zero change for the <br />City. <br />
