The security system was budgeted at $25,000. The contract with Electro -Watchmen for
the card access readers and door contacts is for $12,286. The cameras cost $5658. That
yields a total of $17,944 for security. The original budget was $25,000 so we are in good
shape there.
Outlook
The actual budget using the actual costs staff knows is figured below: (Estimates are in
bold italics)
General Building Construction Costs: $3,219,220
CM Fee $112,673
Reimbursables $186,816
Contingency $0
Architect $188,324
Civil Engineer $27,935
Site Survey/Soil Borings $6,375
SAC Charges $14,910
Data Cabling & Connection Fees $8,418
Asbestos Removal $9,621
Underground Tank/Soil Contamination $12,900
Furniture & Equipment $44,640 (to date)
Security System $17,944
Total: $3,849,776 to date
The total above represents all known, expenditures to date. The final number is right in
line with the number when construction started so James Steele did a nice job of avoiding
major change orders and additions.
Outstanding items include a crane or forklift, trees, mezzanine shelving on the east side
of the building, and possible other equipment needs that arise. The construction portion
of the budget should be finished and now it is just the equipment and other needs that will
require possible additional expenditures.
