MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />April 1, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the ] s` day of April, 2004 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Gray recommended that the minutes of the meeting on February 5, 2004 be approved as <br />submitted <br />Motion seconded by Crary. <br />Motion carried 6- 0. <br />HIDDEN The Director stated that the Hidden Acres subdivision is located north of Burlce Lane and <br />ACRES PARK west of Condit Street. The land was owned by the Fasciana family and is now being subdivided <br />CHARGE for asingle-family home development. He did not see a need for parkland in this area. Sanders <br />agreed stating that there is a creek between the Water Works property and the single-family <br />home development that would require the installation of a bridge for access. A project like that <br />could be costly. <br />Larson recommended accepting the park charge in lieu of land on the Hidden Acres single- <br />.family home development <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />'OP SIGNS The Director indicated that he has identif ed ten different trail locations to install stop signs at a <br />~,.J TRAILS cost of $20 a sign. The installation of these signs would he primarily where linear trails crossed <br />streets. <br />Page 1 of3 <br />
