MINUTES OE THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, M]NNESOTA <br />May G, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6°i day of May, 2004 in the Comrcil <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br /> Ms. Molly Boss <br /> Mr. David Gray <br /> Mr. Craig Larson <br /> Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. James Broten <br /> Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br /> Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br /> Ma Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Gray recommended that the minutes ref the meeting held on April 1, 2004 be approrerl as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried S - 0. <br />HIDDEN Some residents from Yorkton Ridge were present to ask the Commission to reconsider their <br />ACRES PARK recommendation on the park charge for Hidden Acres, the new residential development <br />CHARGE just south of Yorkton Ridge. The Director also gave the Commission copies of some e-mails <br />received pertaining to this issue. <br />Matt White of 140 Yorkton Ridge stated that there is no access to parks from their <br />neighborhood attd nowhere for the kids to play. He indicated that the residents of Yorkton <br />Ridge would like to see access to the St. Paul Water Works trail or a small park installed to <br />address safety issues. He commented that their neighborhood has about 40 children and with <br />the addition of Hidden Acres, that number will increase. <br />Ken Walstad of 150 Yorkton Ridge stated that their road slopes and all of their driveways do <br />too. When kids try to play basketball on their driveways, they end up in the street. He woulc <br />like to at least see some open space for the kids to play. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
