MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />December 2, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 2"d day of December, 2004 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. Brad Volk, Parks Supervisor <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />" "TNUTES Larson recommended that the minutes of the meeting head on November 4, 2004 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />TRAILS Sanders stated that a lot has been accomplished on the trails construction. The remainder to be <br />UPDATE finished includes the section of trail along the Water Works property that is north of South <br />Owasso Boulevard, the railroad tracks, and the small link along Country Drive near the <br />Porterhouse. The Commission was pleased with their progress. <br />Sanders stated that his understanding is that Maplewood intends to finish their link to our trail <br />under the power lines next year. He updated the Commission on Maplewood's work on their <br />trail system in that area. Once the link is finished, our residents will have access to <br />Maplewood's park system. The Commission was excited about the trail links to be completed. <br />Sanders stated that the Director had asked that the Commission discuss the pedestrian crossing <br />on the Rice Street bridge. Sanders prefers to see a crossing on both sides of the bridge, but he <br />didn't think that was a possibility. He stated that if they have to pick one, he would prefer to see <br />the one on the east side due to links to Little Canada and Vadnais Heights. The Commission <br />agreed. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
