MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 1, 2015 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 1st day of October, 2015, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Kong Vang called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />Ms. Sharon Darling <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Ron Horwath <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Vanessa Van Alstine, Cable TV Prod. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />WELCOME On behalf of the entire Commission, Chair Vang welcomed Ron Horwath <br />TO RON as a member of the Parks & Recreation Commission. Horwath reported <br />HORWATH that he has been a 6 year resident of Little Canada and is very happy to be a <br />member of the Commission. <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the August 6, 2015 <br />meeting. <br />TRANSITION The Parks & Recreation Director noted the outline that was distributed <br />PLANNING proposing the structure of the Parks & Recreation Committee, including <br />COMMITTEE information that will be submitted to the committee membership and the <br />tasks/focus of the committee. The Director indicated that the first meeting of <br />the committee will be scheduled shortly, and the Commission will be informed <br />of that date and time. <br />Miller asked about Council discussion relative to the Department at their most <br />recent meeting when the budget was reviewed. The Director reported that the <br />Council certified a preliminary 2016 Budget which calls for a 4% gross levy <br />increase. This discussion at that meeting was to strive for a 3% levy increase or <br />less. The Director reported that a listing of possible revenue enhancements and <br />expense reductions was reviewed, but no decisions were made. <br />1 <br />
