Planning Commission Members
July 2, 2004
Page Two
Utilities Plan
1. A set of catchbasins should be installed on one of the 15" storm sewer
culverts to collect street runoff prior to discharge onto County Road 82 and to
prevent against erosion just off the end of the curb radius.
2. The sanitary sewer connection to the existing manhole in County Road B2
will be core-drilled and a new invert constructed.
3. The new sanitary sewer manholes should have a 0.1-foot drop from inlet
invert elevation to the outlet invert elevation.
4. The watermain, hydrants, and all fitting should be wrapped to help prevent
against corrosion. All hydrant bolts shall be stainless steel.
5. All sanitary manhole lids shall be Neenah R-1733 solid lids with C.I. lift holes.
A copy of the lid detail will be sent to the engineer.
All valves shall include a valve box adaptor to be installed to insure the valve
nut will remain in the center of the box and that the box will be vertical.
The watermain connection adjacent to Viking Blvd. should be made on the
west side of the fence to provide City forces access to the valve.
8. The plan indicates that the top of a storm sewer line was located by that no
invert was found and the pipe continued. The outlet for this pipe should be
located. It is assumed that the water from this storm pipe will need to be
directed into the storm water pond being constructed within the development
just north of TH 36.
Other items
1. The soil boring information and geotechnical report should be provided for
review of the pavement section determination.
These are our comments based on the review of the submitted documents. It should be
noted that the Ramsey Washington Water Shed must approve the grading, drainage,
and erosion control plan prior to construction. If you have any questions regarding these
comments, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
Howard R.
