MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 2G, 2004
The City Administrator noted the increased traffic that will cut through
Little Canada as a result of this project and the resulting need for increased
traffic patrol. The Administrator indicated it is his understanding that
Little Canada can seek special legislation to assist in the cost of increased
policing. The Administrator asked if MN DOT would assist Little Canada
in this effort.
Paflco reported that while MN DOT would answer questions, it would
maintain a neutral position on the issue.
The Administrator noted that most of the City's share of project cost will
be from drainage improvements. T'he Administrator indicated that the
City must coordinate drainage issues with the County. He further
suggested that the City work with the County on traffic mitigation issues
such as the addition of turn lanes at key intersections or temporary traffic
signals.
There was no one else from the general public present wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Blesener, the public hearing was
closed.
Fahey suggested that the City Administrator bring the issue of municipal
consent for this project back to the Council when and if there is a
satisfactory resolution of the outstanding issues.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Fahey, the special meeting was
adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
~z4~~U
Mich el L Fahey, ~ ayor ~~
___.
,_
,- ~~ 7
Attest: %;~, / -----_.__.
_....._.
Jo-e~R.
