MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 24, 2004
Fahey noted that the Planner has indicated that the City's parking
requirements are on the more restrictive end. The City could increase
parkin; requirements, but the downside is the increased amount of
blacktop. Fahey suggested that in light of the concerns expressed at two
of the City's townoffice projects, parking for the Mendota Homes project
should be on the high side.
The Planner reported that he has reviewed Mendota Homes' revised
parking plan. Mendota Homes has increased the green area eliminating 4
to 5 parking spaces. Tlowever, the amount of parking still exceeds the
City's requirements.
Anderson suggested that one solution may be for the City to limit the
number of employees a business can have in the townoffice projects.
Fahey pointed out that the City's review occurs at initial construction of a
project. At that point, the developer has likely not sold the towno~ce
units, therefore, does not la~ow the types of businesses that will occupy the
space.
The Planner suggested that for futw~e townoffice projects the City require
that association documents provide the owners' association with the
authority to manage their parking lots. Council agreed.
TOWN Mayor Fahey invited the general ~~ublic to attend the City's Town Meeting
MEETING scheduled for Saturday, April 17", at 9:00 a.m. at the City Center.
OLD TIRE Mr..LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
IIALL
RENTAL REb'01 UT/ON N0. 2004-3-59 -ADOPTING TBL' REVISED
FEES RENTi11.
