MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 25, 2004 Peterson felt that timeline was too tight. Fred Sedaghat pointed out that Valor also sells repairable vehicles similar to Tom's Auto. Therefore, some of the repairable vehicles should also be considered as vehicles for sale. Council disagreed with making that consideration. The City Administrator indicated that Valor has made substantial progress, but staff felt obligated to recommend denial of the license renewals based on the Council's previous discussion. Sedaghat reported that last year the City Administrator instructed him to reduce the number of vehicles to 75 with no discussion of a proportion between repairables and vehicles for sale. The City Administrator pointed out that that was an interim number that sta{~F suggested while Valor was processing an Amendment to their CUP and trying to move toward compliance. Given denial of that amendment, the 50-car limitation in the original site plan applies. Fahey again pointed out that the City is concerned about the Valor business appearing to be more of ajunkyard than an auto sales lot. Fahey suggested that a 60-day extension be granted for Valor to bring the property into full compliance with the approved site plan. That site plan allows for 20 repairable vehicles and 30 for sale vehicles. LaValle disagreed with the extension pointing out that the Council made it clear at the last meeting that full compliance must be achieved by this meeting. LaValle recommended non-renewal of the licenses with Valor to reapply at the time they have full compliance. Fahey pointed out that such action would put Valor out of business, and suggested the CO-day extension. Fahey cautioned Valor that this was the last extension they would be granted, and noted that full compliance will be required.
