MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOI3>/I2 27, 2004 <br />CUP TOR <br />GARAG>; - <br />2727 <br />LAKI;SII:ORTJ <br />A V>;NU>; - <br />I'UGL>JASA <br />There was no one from the genera( public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by ]3lesener, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RF.SOI. UTION NO. 2004-10-2 i i -APPROVING TIIE AMENDMENT <br />TO PUD ALLOWING ADDITIONAL. DIRECTIONAL .SIGNAGE IN <br />E,A'CE.SS OF YVHAT WAS IMTIALI, I' ALLOWED IN 7FIE PUD FOR <br />.SHURCARD SELF STORAGE AT 55 COUNI'I' ROAD 13 EAST <br />SU13.IECT TO COMPI_IANC"E WITH TILE RECOMMENDATIONS <br />OF THls' C/T 3' PI ANNER AND PLANNING COBIMI SSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Allan, .Montour, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the request for Conditional <br />Use Permit to allow construction of a garage exceeding ],000 square feet <br />in size as requested by James and Tammy Pugleasa at 2727 Lakeshore <br />Avenue. It was noted that the City Planner recommended against the <br />garage. I°iowever, the Planning Commission recommended approval of <br />a garage up to 1, 7 20 square feet in size and with the restriction that there <br />be no storage sheds ou the property. <br />would impact his ability to add onto the house. <br />James Pugleasa indicated that one of the questions that were raised was <br />the size of the proposed garage in relation to the house. Pugleasa <br />indicated that he and his wife bought a run down I>iece of property and <br />have made substantial improvements. 'They have plans to add on to the <br />house at a later date. Pugleasa asked if his construction of a large garage <br />Fahey indicated that the size of the house and the garage are independent <br />issues. Fahey stated that the concerns raised by the City Planner related to <br />the size of the lot and the character of the neighborhood. Fahey stated that <br />he agreed with the comments of the City Planner that the proposed garage <br />size is out of character with the neighborhood. Fahey suggested that if the <br />Council supports the action of the Planning Commission, his preference <br />would be to change the Code so that every property owner is afforded the <br />same benefit. <br />
