Upon motion by ]3lesener, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was closed. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RF.SOI. Ayes (5) Blesener, Allan, .Montour, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the request for Conditional Use Permit to allow construction of a garage exceeding ],000 square feet in size as requested by James and Tammy Pugleasa at 2727 Lakeshore Avenue. It was noted that the City Planner recommended against the garage. I°iowever, the Planning Commission recommended approval of a garage up to 1, 7 20 square feet in size and with the restriction that there be no storage sheds ou the property. would impact his ability to add onto the house. James Pugleasa indicated that one of the questions that were raised was the size of the proposed garage in relation to the house. Pugleasa indicated that he and his wife bought a run down I>iece of property and have made substantial improvements. 'They have plans to add on to the house at a later date. Pugleasa asked if his construction of a large garage Fahey indicated that the size of the house and the garage are independent issues. Fahey stated that the concerns raised by the City Planner related to the size of the lot and the character of the neighborhood. Fahey stated that he agreed with the comments of the City Planner that the proposed garage size is out of character with the neighborhood. Fahey suggested that if the Council supports the action of the Planning Commission, his preference would be to change the Code so that every property owner is afforded the same benefit.
