MINUTES <br />CITY COIJNCII, <br />NOVT!;MBTJR ]0, 2004 <br />There was some discussion relative to what would he considered a <br />majority vote of the Cowicil in making the appointment. The City <br />Attorney stated that it would he his opinion that a majority vote would be <br />the majority of the Council present at the Yime the vote was taken. The <br />Attorney indicated that he would research this issue further to ensure that <br />his opinion was correct. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI,IITION NO. 2004-I1-276 - DECI ARING THAT THE <br />CODNCII, VACANCY THAT WII,I. OCCUR IN JANUARY OE 2005 <br />WIL] BE FILLED THROUGH AN APPOINTMENT PROCESS THAT <br />WILL. INCI UI)E THE TAKING OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE <br />VACANCY UP UNTIL, DECF.MI3ER l4, 2004 AT 4.•30 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (4) Pahey, Montour, Blesener, Allan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />OLD I:II2E The Council reviewed the City staft"s recommendation relative to <br />HALL the establishment of anon-resident rental fee for the Old ,Fire LTall <br />RI';NTAL as well as the reduction in the insurance limits required for Host <br />FI!lES AND Liquor Liability ,Insurance required when rentals include the <br />REGULATIONS serving of alcohol. 1'he City Administrator explained the difficulty that <br />people are having in obtaining Host Liquor Liability Insurance at the <br />current limits required. He also noted that the League of Minnesota Cities <br />Lisi~n~ance Trust will consider making this insurance coverage available. <br />1-lowever, even with a favorable decision, it will be some time before a <br />program can be put in place and available to the public. <br />Ivlr.
