MINU7'GS OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER I5, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the ] 5th day of <br />December, 2004 in the Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll ca(1: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Michael L Fahey <br />Mr. BiII Bleseuer <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Ms. Barbara Allan <br />ALSO PRLSGNT: <br />City Administrator <br />Deputy Cleric <br />Ivlr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />CITY The purpose of this meeting is to conduct the am~ual performance <br />ADMINIS- evaluation of the City Administrator. In preparation for this meeting, <br />TRATOR the Council completed evaluation forms, which they now reviewed <br />PERTORMANCE with the Administrator. <br />EVALUATION <br />The first area of responsibility reviewed was "Organizational <br />Management". Fahey rated the Administrator at "E" commenting on his <br />creation of a cohesive, results-oriented team that consistently produces <br />high quality services and results. Fahey commended the Administrator on <br />the reassignment and reorganization of duties in the Public Works <br />Department. Allan provided an "E" rating and commented that the <br />Administrator is very versatile in his job description and promotes this in <br />other City employees. She commended his practice of promotion from <br />within and his encouragement of flexibility in job descriptions. ]3lesener <br />provided an "E" rating indicating that the Administrator only hires <br />qualified staff. He noted that employees laiow their responsibilities and <br />require little, if any, day-to-day supervision. Blesener noted that recently <br />two employees have been hired by other cities for positions with much <br />greater responsibilities. LaValle provided au "1/" ~ ating and noted that the <br />Administrator leads by example. Montour rated this area of responsibility <br />at "E" commenting on the two employees who recently went on to other <br />jobs with greater responsibility. <br />
