MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 8, 2003 <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RF..S~OL UTION NO. 2003-I-II -APPOINTING KATHY WEIHE TO <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR A ONE YEAR TERM TO <br />Ea'PIRE ON DECEMBER 31, 2003 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Montour, Blesener, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LENFER The City Administrator informed the Council that an electrical contractor <br />TRANS- is considering the purchase of the Lenfer Transmission property. In order <br />MISSION to accommodate that type of use, a rezoning would be necessary and there <br />may be some issues with limited outdoor storage. This development <br />proposal will likely be present to the Council during the February planning <br />cycle. <br />MARKET LaValle asked the status of the improvement of Market Place Drive as <br />PLACE well as dedication of property for ponding by the owners of the Marketing <br />Place Shopping Center. The City Administrator noted that an <br />improvement hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 21" to <br />consider relocation of Market Place Drive. The Administrator also noted <br />that the owners of the shopping center have agreed to dedicate land for <br />ponding. He further noted the potential for redevelopment of the US Bank <br />property and that he will be meeting with Sherman Associates next week <br />relative to the status of the redevelopment effort for the property north of <br />Little Canada Road along Rice Street. <br />COMMUNITY Mayor Fahey reported that prior to the regular meeting, the Council held a <br />IDENTITY workshop to discuss ways to enhance Little Canada's identity. The Public <br />WORKSHOP Works Director reported that he will bring a proposal back to the Council <br />relative to the change-out of existing street signs with larger signs that <br />incorporate the City's logo. <br />.Fahey suggested that the Parks & Recreation Commission be asked to <br />comment on the incorporation of the City's logo on backstops, etc. in City <br />parks as well as enhancement of City identification signage in the parks. <br />
