MINUTi';S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 14, 2003 <br />vacation schedule to three weeks if Blesener felt that was a more <br />appropriate way to handle the matter. <br />Blesener main stated that he had no problem with exempt status for the <br />Accounting Supervisor, and indicated that he thought the position was <br />exempt. Blesener stated that his concern was the system of providing an <br />additional week of vacation based on performance for several City <br />employees. Blesener and Fahey agreed to meet to review this issue as <br />relates to the vacation schedule and come back to the Council with a <br />recommendation. <br />NORTH STAR The Council reviewed the request of North Star Estates for asix-month <br />1'JSTATI';S extension of their Conditional Use Permit related to the construction of <br />CONllIT1:ONAL an on-site storm shelter and expressed concern with the lack of progress <br />USE PERMIT in getting this storm shelter built. <br />The City Administrator reported that he has been working with the <br />attorney representing North Star Estates, and is hopeful that progress will <br />be made shortly. If not, the City has the ability to take action against <br />North Star Estates for anon-compliant emergency evacuation plan. The <br />Administrator noted that the County has approved a $95,000 grant toward <br />the cost of constructing this shelter, and North Star Estates realizes that <br />they are in danger of losing these dollars if they do not proceed. The <br />Administrator indicated that the CUP is about to expire, and rather than <br />repeat fhe hearing process, North Star Estates is requesting an extension of <br />that approval. <br />Council agreed that should progress not be made in the s}~ort term, the <br />City should proceed with the appropriate steps to enforce the State Statute. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />REb'OI. Resolution declared adopted. <br />
