Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. VOLUNTARY The City Administrator recommended that City employees be offered LEAVE OP' the option of taldng up to five days of voluntary leave during each of ABST;NCIJ budget years 2003 and 2004 as a part of on-going efforts to reduce costs. The Adminishator noted that leaves would require approval of both the appropriate department head and City Administrator and would be worked into schedules to minimize disruption to service levels. The Administrator also recommended that benefits would continue to accrue during this leave. The program would be offered on a strictly voluntary basis. LaValle felt the proposal was a good one, and suggested that employees be allowed to take up to five days or more in a minimum of half-day increments. [3lesener stated that he would support the program as long as it was understood that it was strictly voluntary.
