MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 23, 2003
requested a June 1, 2004 date. Johnson also pointed out that Drywall
Supply is currently occupying the former Knox building and working on
plans for their new building on the back property. Drywall Supply will
not be able to vacate the former Knox building until their new building is
constructed. The City Administrator indicated that he could amend the
development agreement points include timing requirements that reflect
Drywall Supply's move into their new building.
Johnson pointed out the requirement for landscaping the proposed pond
area. He questioned the need to screen this area of the site. The City
Planner indicated that the landscaping requirement was for ground cover
to ensure a ground cover other that weeds. The requirement was not for
landscape screening.
Johnson asked about paving and curbing requirements. He indicated that
the plan was to pave and curb the access drive in from Country Drive.
Johnson asked that curbing for the parking areas on the former Knox
building site be delayed until the property is sold and the new user of the
site is known.
The City Planner reported that he discussed this with the City Engineer,
and it is their feeling that this is a reasonable request. The Planner
recommended, however, that the location of the drive isles to the former
Knox building site be installed at this time.
Fahey asked if a June 1, 2004 deadline for landscaping and paving. The
City Planner indicated that the landscaping would be difficult to get
completed this year, and suggested that a June 1" deadline was acceptable
provided that the City has the appropriate security deposit in place.
With regard to utilities, the City Administrator pointed out that utilities
will need to be installed to serve the District Council 82 site. He also
noted that paving of the shared access road will need to be established to
prevent tracking on Country Drive. The Administrator suggested,
however, that the paving of the access road that loops around the Drywall
Supply building could be done by June 15f
Montour asked about water main removal. The City Administrator
indicated that this issue is being reviewed from the standpoint of whether
water main needs to be looped within the site.
rit__,. __.__,._a ,.t _,. ,.t. •...._._ .r_,_. ___ .__... .. ...__1 ..•a•... .. ~ ,•n
ll1GHG11G1 1lU lGU lllal L11G IJSUG Vl SIUGGV VG15U8 SIGGl SlUlll~' IS SUII
outstanding.
