MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER 1, 2003 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 1 st day of <br />December, 2003 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael L Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Council Member Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour (arr. 6:45) <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R Hanson <br />Deputy Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />PERFORMANCE The purpose of this evening's workshop i s to conduct the City <br />EVALUATION Administrator's performance evaluation. The Council began by reviewing <br />the evaluations submitted by City employees. Council suggested some <br />charges be made to the evaluation form, substituting a weighted ranking <br />system for the yes/no answer categories. Employee comments relative to <br />communication were noted and discussed . <br />Fahey indicated that he had a concern with communication as well, noting <br />that he has had diffculty getting in touch with the City Administrator. <br />Fahey conunented, however, that he understands the demands on the <br />Administrator and that he has been very busy with the redevelopment <br />projects that are occurring in the City. One other area of concern is that <br />there have been a lot of additions to the agenda this past year. Fahey felt <br />that getting additional information and agenda items at the Council <br />meeting did not provide the Council with time to adequately review this <br />information. Fahey suggested that one resolution would be to recess the <br />Cowrcil meeting for a period of time to allow the Council to review this <br />information. Blesener suggested that if there is additional information in <br />the additions To The agenda, that staff point that out at the Council meeting. <br />The Administrator agreed that some agenda items have been included as <br />additions to the agenda as there are times that staff is waiting for <br />information or has accommodated people requesting Council action after <br />
