MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 6, 2003 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6`h day of February, 2003 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br /> Mr. James Broten <br /> Ms. Gretchen Crary <br /> Mr. David Gray <br /> Mr. Craig Larson <br /> Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, P&R Director <br /> Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />INUTES Larson recomnzeaded that the minutes front the meeting dated January 2, 2003 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Schabacker. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />COMMUNITY The Director stated that two areas have been identified to promote community identity within <br />IDENTITY our parks. <br />1. Existing park signage could be replaced with something new and better or at the very <br />least replace signs that are missing or vandalized. <br />2. Signage could be added to the backstops of the fields at Pioneer Park that could contain <br />Little Canada's identity and our logo. <br />The Commission thought that staff should move forward with these ideas. The Director asked <br />for other suggestions to promote community identity within our park system. Broten suggested <br />adding signage to trails where they cross roads telling the name of the road. Sackett Glaser <br />suggested adding signage to trails to identify the trail and giving directions to nearby parks. <br />The Director encouraged members with other suggestions to let him know about their ideas for <br />discussion at next month's meeting. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
