MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNF,SOTA <br />March 24, 2003 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 24`" day of March, 2003 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert (left at 7:00 p.m. due to fire call) <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, P&R Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />Neighbors of Rondeau Park (16 total) <br />RONDEAU Sanders explained that the Rondeau Park improvements that went out for bid last year were <br />PARK delayed due to the lack of competitive bids which drove up the price. They were re-bid this year <br />along with the street improvement projects and the bids came in very favorable. The project is <br />within the budgeted amounts. The Council will be acting on this matter at their meeting this <br />Wednesday. <br />Sanders reviewed the proposed park plans for the residents present at the meeting. He stated <br />that the plans contain the following amenities for the park: <br />Benches. <br />^ Bituminous trails. <br />^ Children's play area with wood fiber base. <br />^ Drainage ponding areas. <br />• Drinking fountain. <br />^ Three separate entrances -two off of Jackson Street and one on the east side for the <br />apartments. <br />Grassy open space. <br />^ Future gazebo not yet budgeted. <br />^ Half basketball court. <br />^ Landscaping. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
