MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />June 5, 2003 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 5`h day of June, 2003 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Vice-Chair Schabacker called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker, Vice-Chair <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert (left 8:00 p.m.) <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />Mr. David Gray <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Larson recommended that the minutes of the meetir:g on May 1, 2003 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />ICE CREAM Steinert stated that he has been doing some research in preparation for the ice cream social. The <br />SOCIAL puppet show would take 20 minutes, the K-9 demonstration would take 30 minutes, and the Fire <br />Department would like an hour for their activities. Steinert stated that the K-9 demo could be <br />held from 6:30-7:00 and the Fire Department has asked for the 7:00-8:00 time slot. He felt that <br />trying to fit three activities into 1 %z hours would be difficult and he asked for feedback <br />regarding cancellation of the puppet show. The Commission Members present felt that the <br />change was warranted. <br />INMAN PARK Sanders stated that the property in question is between LaBore Road and the powerlines. He <br />CHARGE indicated that the parcel is a narrow strip of land and he felt that there would be no need for <br />parkland in that area. <br />Ed & Becky Inman of 785 LaBore Road were present. They stated that their proposal would <br />extend Allen Avenue from Greenbrier Street into their property to enable them to build two <br />houses for their daughters. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
