MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />me 5, 2003 <br />Broten recommended that cash be accepted in lieu of Land for the park charge on the Inman <br />property located z:orth of LaBore Road. <br />Motion seconded by Larson. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />PARK TOUR The Commission Members present decided to schedule a park tour at 6:30 p.m. before their <br />meeting in August. <br />JULY The Commission Members present recommended tentatively canceling the July meeting with <br />MEETING the Director's and Chair's approvals. <br />RONDEAU Sanders stated that three bids were received on the Rondeau Park playground. The bidders were <br />PARK Earl F. Anderson, Webber Recreational Design, and Flanagan Sales, Inc. The low bidder was <br />Earl F. Anderson at $52,276.47. Phase I of the bid was just over our budget price of $40,000. <br />Earl F. Anderson submitted their bid in two phases as follows: <br />Phase I -Main play structure and swings $43,194.18 <br />Phase II -Five pieces of individual equipment $9,082.29 <br />Sanders reported that wood fiber material is proposed for under the equipment. Construction <br />will not start until later this summer. The project should be completed in October. Schabacker <br />suggested holding a groundbreaking ceremony or a grand opening for the neighborhood. <br />Sanders reviewed the play structure that Earl F. Anderson has proposed. This structure is <br />similar to what was proposed by the other two companies. Sanders stated that all three <br />companies are reputable and he recommends accepting the low bid. <br />Larson recommended accepting the low bid froze Earl F. Anderson at a cost of $52, 276.47. <br />Motion seconded by Broten. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />Sanders stated that per the request of the neighborhood, there will be a sand area added with one <br />digger. A change order to the contract will be needed for the cement work. This extra cost is <br />estimated at $3,500. <br />Brotezz recoznn:ended submitting a change order for installation of the sand area and digger. <br />Motion seconded by Larson. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
