MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
one 5, 2003
POWERLINE The City Engineer was present to discuss the two options for crossing Edgerton Street. The first
TRAIL option would involve an at-grade crossing with a push button activated stoplight. The cost for
this option is approximately $40,000-$60,000. The second option would be a pedestrian
underpass. The cost for the underpass would be significantly higher at approximately $300,000.
He also outlined other concerns with the underpass as stated in his letter to the Commission
dated June 5, 2003.
Since there wasn't a quorum present, the Commission Members could not vote on this issue.
However, the Commission Members present favored the at-grade crossing due to the high cost
of the underpass. Sanders commented that an underpass could always be considered in the
future.
Broten asked if the size of the 14' x 10' box could be reduced to result in cost savings since
there is only an 8' trail proposed. The City Engineer stated that it could probably be reduced to
12' x 10', but this would not result in much of a savings.
ADJOURN Broten recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Larsorz.
Motion carried 3 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
