MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 2, 2003 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 2nd day of October, 2003 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Gretchen Crary <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Derek Anderson, Parks & Rec. Program Coordinator <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Broten recommended that the minutes of the meeting on September 4, 2003 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />JACKSON Sackett Glaser stated that a petition was submitted to the City Council from some of the <br />ST. TRAIL residents on Jackson Street voicing their opinion against the proposed Jackson Sheet trail <br />improvements. The residents attending the Council meeting seemed to get their questions <br />answered and construction of the trail will be moving forward. <br />RONDEAU Sanders stated that the contractor is "under the gun" to get the project finished. There is still <br />PARK another month left of good weather in which to work. The play equipment is ready to install, <br />but we are holding off on the installation until completion of the park. The City Engineer is <br />watching over the conri•actor's progress and there may be fines imposed if not completed in <br />time. <br />TRAIL Sackett Glaser stated that the trail project priority list was updated at the last meeting. She <br />PROJECTS commented that the Council did approve the Commission's recommendation. <br />Broten asked about the status of the home that is for sale on Payne Avenue and the possibility of <br />acquiring an easement fi•om the new owner.
