MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />October 2, 2003 <br />anything on this matter, but she felt the City was waiting until after the closing before <br />approaching the new owner on the easement. <br />Sanders presented an aerial map showing the proposed memorial trail to be located north of the <br />fire station. He showed the hail meandering from Centerville Road along the Water Works <br />easement and then connecting with the existing trail in Spooner Park. He stated that a <br />connection from McMenemy Street to the hail would also be nice. The trail would feature <br />benches dedicated to past fire chiefs with interpretive signs commenting on the history of the <br />fire department. <br />Sanders stated that there has been no word yet on the trail grant. They are waiting on the DNR <br />to approve the environmental assessment. <br />BUCKTHORN Anderson stated that the Director felt it was best to wait until spring to conduct Buckthorn <br />removal on City property. <br />PROGRAM The Commission reviewed the list of proposed program and park shelter reservation fees. <br />FEES <br />Schabacker recommended accepting the proposed 2004 program and park shelter reservation <br />fees as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Crary. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />ADJOURN Larson recommended that the zneeting be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />// <br />~~~~ <br />s Pechman <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
