The Director agreed. If the Commission concurs, the Director would
like to approach one of the Boy Scout troops to see if they would be interested in taking the
project on both for building them and maintenance of them. There are several places where the
houses would be good, especially in our more natural parks. Sanders cautioned about the
placement of wood duck houses since the ducks can be very territorial. He felt it was okay to go
ahead and place some houses, but felt that we should not overdo it. The Director and Sanders
stated that they would both do some more research on the subject prior to placement of the
houses. Broten commented that there is a resident off the Payne Avenue pond that had a wood
duck house in a tree in his yard, but the squi~7•els took over the house. The resident finally had
to place the house on a pipe and move it into the pond. The Director stated Chat he would check
that out too.
NOEL DRIVE The Director stated that Don Gagne approached him regarding this matter about a month ago.
'"AZEBO Gagne wanted to present this idea to the Commission to get feedback from them.
