MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />FEBRUARY 13, 2003 <br />Mr. Barraclough recommended approval of the rezoning of 75 Little <br />Canada Road from B-3 to PUD to allowing the permitted uses in the B-3 <br />Zoning District as well as allowing electrical contracting shops as a <br />permitted use subject to submission of an acceptable site plan as well as <br />signage, and denying the PUD Permit for outdoor storage. <br />Motion seconded by Roycraft. <br />Motion failed 3 to 3. Knudsen, Duray, and Weihe voting against. <br />Knudsen indicated that he was extremely impressed with Stelton's <br />business. it was his feeling, however, that the business just did not fit in <br />this particular location. <br />CUP - The City Planner reported that a Conditional Use Permit for a <br />MARKET PLACE comprehensive sign plan for multi-tenant buildings. The Planner noted <br />SHOPPING that given recent changes to the sign package at the Market Place <br />CENTER Shopping Center, the City Administrator felt that a comprehensive sign <br />plan should be reviewed and acted upon at this time. This would allow for <br />the issuance of building permits for all signage changes provided that <br />those changes were in conformance with the approved comprehensive sign <br />plan. The City Planner recommended approval of the comprehensive sign <br />plan for the Market Place Shopping Center. <br />Mr. Barraclough recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit for <br />comprehensive sign plan for the Market Place Shopping Center based on <br />the recommendation of the City Planner. <br />Motion seconded by Wojcik. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />AMENDING The City Planner reviewed the recommendation of the Code Enforcement <br />ZONING CODE - Officer relative to Zoning Code amendments for regulation of temporary <br />TEMPORARY signs within the City as well as the Council's discussion and direction in <br />SIGNS this regard. The Planner indicated that the changes being proposed also <br />reflect input from the business community of the need to loosen the City's <br />temporary sign ordinance. <br />The Planner noted that the proposed Zoning Code amendments as directed <br />by the Council calls for exemption of bamrers from the temporary sign <br />ordinance and would allow for one bamrer per business to be affixed to <br />either the building or atwo-legged pylon sign.
