MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />January 3, 2002 <br />PROJECTS Sanders reported on the following project: <br />UPDATE <br />Little Canada Road Pun:p House -The project is complete and will be functional this <br />sunmier. <br />RECREATION The Director reported on the following: <br />REPORT <br />Participation in soccer was down a little this fall. After a review of other cities' <br />participation numbers, it was discovered that participation was down there as well. This <br />maybe due to children's involvement in so many different activities. <br />Late registrations are still being accepted for gymnastics, skating lessons, babysitter <br />safety, and basketball clinic. Participation is up in skating lessons from 22 children last <br />year to 36 this year. <br />Tlie Friends of the Parks & Trails' tree sale is coming up in February. Residents can <br />purchase trees and donate them to the City. Sackett Glaser recommended placing a <br />notice in the City newsletter about the sale. <br />GOAL The 2002 Goal Setting Session is scheduled on February 20 at 4 p.m. The Chair and <br />SETTING Vice-Chair should attend. Sackett Glaser said that she would be available to attend and she <br />is sure Schabaclcer will attend if he is iu town. <br />ADJOURN Larson recommended that the naeetiug be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Broten. <br />Motim: carried 4 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m. <br />f <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />
