The Commission can
then decide whether they want to go forward with the court or not. Sanders commented that
an adjustable backboard could address some of the concerns expressed at last month's
meeting. He also commented that the surface will be bid as bituminous since a cushioned
surface will not decrease the noise appreciably. He outlined the following changes:
Children's play area has been moved ten feet north from its original location to address
the concern expressed by the townhome resident closest to the area. There will be a play
structure for older kids and one for younger children. Swings and track slides will also
be added. The play area will be handicapped accessible.
Space has been left for the gazebo if it is desired in the future.
• Landscaping has been increased, especially in the area between the park and townhomes
to enhance screening. The park will be sodded around the trail areas and on the slope
next to the play area, and seeded in the other areas.
Page 1 oP3
