LITTLE CANADA PARK COMMISSION MINIFPES - March 25, 1982
,`
Present: Carl Spooner, Nicholas Kent, Bev Scalze, Dan Ilgake
Bill Sanders
There was some discussion about the possibility of the
Park Commission working with the school district on a
summer program because of the recent budget cut of summer
school. The school district will meet on April 24 to
make their decision, and a representative has been invited
to the April 29 Park Commission meeting. Approximately
100 students from Little Canada will be involved.
Word was received from Maplewood Community Services
regarding our use of their puppet wagon for 1982 as we
have in past years. The price has gone up to $60 per
visit, Consensus was to wait until we have learned
more about the school district program.
There is now $91;000 in the parkland dedication fund,
Bev Scalze reported that the Viking Property parkland
dedication fee was decided to be $12,500 for the first
phase of their development which will be MGM Liquors,

.../
Bill Sanders reported that all the previous trail grant
paperwork has been completed and turned in.
The commission has been informed by the Turnquists that
they are not interested in selling their property at
this time, Discussion turned to other properties in the
same location that may be acquired for future wetland
open space. More research will follow,
Carl Spooner reported that Marco Frattalone has agreed
to donate the plants for the area around the Spooner Park
sign. Jim Morelan will look for someone to water them.
Johannah Gallagher has advertised with the senior citieens
for a volunteer for this job,
There was some discussion regarding the plaque for the
bandstand, Dan Drake said he would check with Jim Morelan
about it.
The next meeting will be April 29 at 7:30.
