MINUTES OE THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />June 6, 2002 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6`h day of June, 2002 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Carla Horwath <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. David Gray <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Larson recommended that the minutes front the meeting dated May 2, 2002 be approved <br />as sub»:itted. <br />Motion seconded by Horwath. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />CONCERTS Horwath stated that the Roseville Area Schools Jazz Band would like to begin the concert at <br />7 p.m. The Director commented that ice cream could be distributed from 6:30-7:30 p.m. so <br />that it may overlap with the music Horwath stated that the City has made a donation of $200 <br />in the past to cover the cost of a pizza party for band members. <br />The Director stated that he talked to some organizations that have conducted ice cream <br />socials in the past. They have switched to packaged ice cream rather than scooped since it is <br />easier to keep frozen, less labor involved, and no approvals are necessary from the County. <br />The Director felt that Dixie cups of ice cream could be served. A representative of the A&W <br />Root beer located in Little Canada has expressed interest in helping with the event. He said <br />that he has staff that is willing to help and would donate root beer to make floats. The <br />Director felt that those wanting floats could mix the ice cream from the Dixie cups into other <br />cups made available, and then the root beer could be added. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
