MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />October 3, 2002 <br />• Registration was just held for youth fall gymnastics and basketball clinic. <br />• There are three adult 55 alive driving classes scheduled in November. One of those <br />classes has already been filled. <br />• The Public Works Director stated that an 18" hard plastic barrier was already placed <br />along the Aspen Pond trail to keep the willows from destroying the pavement. The <br />willows that have germinated through the blacktop will be treated with roundup. The <br />Engineers feel that they have done all they can with the exception of removing the <br />willows altogether. Broten commented that there is one other area along the trail on the <br />opposite side that does not have the plastic barrier where willows are surfacing. The <br />Director stated that he would discuss this with the Public Works Director. <br />• The Lake Owasso Residence Volunteer Council recently donated $5,000 to the City for <br />handicapped equipment for Rondeau Park. <br />2003 FEES The Director presented the proposed 2003 Parks & Recreation Fees for approval. He stated <br />that the LCRA has already approved paying 20% of the youth fees. <br />Steinert recommended approval of the proposed 2003 Parks & Recreation Fees as <br />presented. <br />Motion secor:ded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />RESIGNATION The Director stated that Carla Horwath is moving out of the City and has therefore resigned <br />from the Commission.
