MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 16, 2015 <br />APPOINTMENTS The City Clerk reported that the Planning Commission terms of office for <br />TO THE Nick Schwalbach and Heidi Murphy expire on December 31, 2015. <br />PLANNING Schwalbach applied for reappointment and Murphy did not. The <br />COMMISSION vacancies were advertised for the Planning Conunission, and the Clerk <br />noted that a committee interviewed the new applicant. <br />Keis reported that he, Council Member Montour and the City <br />Administrator interviewed Jennifer Schletty Flores for the Planning <br />Commission vacancy. The applicants are Nick Schwalbach and Jennifer <br />Schletty Flores. Keis indicated that both are well qualified to serve on the <br />Commission, and it was the Committee's recommendation that all be <br />appointed to the Planning Commission. Montour noted that Schletty <br />Flores has a long family history in Little Canada and will bring a lot of <br />institutional knowledge of the city. The Council agreed to a white ballot <br />vote since there were two applicants for two open positions. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-12-239 — APPOINTING THE FOLLOWING <br />INDIVIDUALS TO THREE-YEAR TERMS ON THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION COMMENCING JANUARY 2016: <br />NICK SCHWALBACH <br />JENNIFER SCHLETTY FLORES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Keis noted that the Planning Commission Ordinance provides that the <br />Mayor recommend a Chair for the Commission, with the Council to act on <br />the recommendation. The Vice Chair is chosen by the Commission. <br />Mayor Keis recommended that Tom Duray be appointed as the Planning <br />Commission Chair for 2016. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2015-12-240 —APPOINTING TOM D URA Y AS <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION CHAIR FOR 2016 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0).
