3 9. The Fire Department and the City Council held joint workshops during 2010 to review the Fire Truck Replacement Program. The result of these workshops was a revised Fire Truck Replacement Plan and the annual funding of the Fire Truck Replacement Program has been included in the City’s Capital Improvement Budget. As part of this process, the Fire Department has agreed to contribute 50% of their charitable gaming profits for 2014, net of the 10% tax, to aid in the purchase of fire equipment. These funds will be transferred by the Fire Department to the City. The City will place them in the Fire Equipment fund and they may only be used to assist in making fire equipment purchases that are mutually agreed to by the City and Fire Department. (Note: This highlighted in blue shall be revisited by the Long Range Planning Committee and a recommendation to the City Council regarding the continued inclusion of this language in the 2016 contract shall be made by February 19, 2016. 10. The Fire Department also identified other capital needs and a contingency reserve totaling $36,219 for 2016. The Fire Department will be reimbursed for the budgeted 2016 capital expenditures upon submitting the City proper documentation of the expenditure or need for reserve draw. The Fire Department shall continue to update its five year Capital Improvement Budget on an annual basis and submit the same to the City by August 12th of the current contract year.
