Woolsey reported that the
SALVATION majority of the space will be retail, and a small area will be
ARMY dedicated to processing and sorting. Woolsey indicated that there has
been an issue raised with having a drop off box outside the store, and they
are agreeable to not having a drop off container.
Keis noted that it appeared that 80% of the space would be retail space
while ZO% would be dedicated to processing and sorting. Woolsey
indicated that that was correct.
Duray asked why type of merchandise would be sold. Woolsey indicated
that they would sell clothing, furniture, and household goods. He
indicated that there goal is to become a part of the community. This store
will be their flagship store. The Salvation Army is upgrading its image
and the store will have a new name, "The Family Store". Woolsey
compared their new image to something similar to Target.
Duray asked if items would be delivered through the back of the store.
Woolsey replied that that was correct. When Salvation Army trucks
deliver merchandise, it is typically already on racks and tagged and ready
to go immediately to the retail floor. There will be no storage of goods
outside. As merchandise is delivered, anything that needs to be returned
to the distribution center, will be loaded in the same truck and returned.
2-
