MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 9, 2016
Council approve payment of these three invoices given we will have more
dollars to pay for the overall project.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2016-3-57 — APPROVE PAYMENT OF THREE
INVOICES FOR CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY TOTALLING
$378,274.68
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
CONTINUED The City Administrator asked the Council if they want to finish the
DISCUSSION discussion about the 2016 goals action plans that wasn't completed at the
FROM earlier workshop. The Council agreed to finish the discussion.
WORKSHOP
ABOUT 2016 The City Administrator stated that the last goal in the list that received at
GOALS ACTION least three Council votes was to evaluate becoming a GreenStep City. He
PLANS stated that staff would do research and find out what is involved to
participate in this program. Keis stated the program is to help cities
become more environmentally green and save money.
The City Administrator stated that there were some goals that he did not
prepare action plans for. He stated the goal to develop a comprehensive
sign plan for park history, welcome to Little Canada signs and trail
location signs could be addressed as a task and simply assign to various
groups, or the Council could choose to not do anything with this.
McGraw stated the Parks and Recreation Commission could work on this.
The Council agreed that this should be a task, and staff or the Parks
Commission can find out more information about costs, and the Council
will then decide how to proceed.
The City Administrator stated the next goal was to revisit the City's
mission statement, and create a mission statement and goals for the
Planning Commission. Fischer stated that the Council should first talk
about the City's mission statement before the other Commissions adopt
their own mission statements so that they do not contradict each other. He
noted that the Parks and Recreation Commission will be very busy this
year, so this should wait until later in the year. The City Administrator
stated that he will schedule a discussion about the City's mission
statement at a future workshop.
